On the heels of the season 27 finale of The Bachelor—throughout which Zach Shallcross bought engaged to Kaity Biggar—creator Mike Fleiss introduced he’s parting methods with the franchise, according to Variety.

“Firstly, congratulations are to ensure that Zach and Kaity,” Mike stated in a press release to the outlet. “I want them an extended and joyful life collectively.”

“I need to thank WBTV and ABC for 21 extraordinary years,” Mike continued. “They’ve discovered the right artistic group for me to entrust The Bachelor franchise and hold this lightning in a bottle daring and shifting ahead. Let the journey proceed.”
