Teen fatally stabbed in the back outside NYC building

A teenager was fatally stabbed in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

Officers responded to the front of a building on Beach Avenue in Soundview just after 4:30 p.m. and discovered Jonathan Melo, 17, with a stab wound to his back.

Melo was rushed to NYC Health and Hospitals/Jacobi in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead, cops said.

No arrests have been made, and it is unclear what sparked the attack.

The investigation remains ongoing.
