South Korea’s LGES to Resume Arizona Battery Manufacturing facility Plan With $5.6 Billion Funding


SEOUL (Reuters) – South Korea’s LG Vitality Answer Ltd (LGES) mentioned on Friday it could make investments 7.2 trillion received ($5.58 billion) to construct a battery manufacturing facility in Arizona, reviving a challenge paused final 12 months resulting from opposed financial circumstances.

The world’s third-ranked electrical car battery maker, which provides Tesla Inc, Lucid Group Inc and different automakers, in June mentioned it was reassessing what was then a 1.7 trillion received funding plan resulting from “unprecedented” financial circumstances, simply three months the plan’s preliminary unveiling.

Friday’s announcement comes after LGES in January mentioned it had been in “energetic dialogue” with Tesla and electrical car startups to produce batteries from the proposed manufacturing facility.
