South Florida Airport Partially Evacuated for Safety Probe


FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Officers ordered a partial evacuation of a South Florida airport Tuesday night as a part of a “security-related investigation.”

The Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood Worldwide Airport posted on Twitter shortly after 8 p.m. that officers have been investigating within the baggage declare space of Terminal 1, which is used primarily by Southwest Airways.

The terminal’s decrease degree was evacuated, and the airport’s entrance roadway was blocked, the social media put up stated.

Vacationers have been instructed to verify their airways for up to date flight data.

Officers did not instantly present particulars about what prompted the investigation and evacuation.
