Misplaced ‘Goonies’ footage reveals hilarious Steven Spielberg prank


Steven Spielberg is famously expert at directing children in films. However a brand new video that’s surfaced places the Hollywood heavyweight’s personal childlike vitality on show.

A decades-old clip posted this week on Twitter reveals the “E.T.” filmmaker taking part in an enormous prank on “Goonies” director Richard Donner, again in 1985.

Spielberg, in fact, devised the story for the traditional household film a couple of group of scamps dwelling in Astoria, Ore., who head out on a deadly journey.

The jet-setting actors included Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Martha Plimpton and Jeff Cohen. The actors who performed the Fratelli household — Anne Ramsey, Robert Davi and Joe Pantoliano — additionally made the trek.

The plot labored. An incredulous and laughing Donner, who died in 2021 at age 91, is lounging outdoors and shouts, “Holy s–t!… I don’t consider it! Oh my God! What the hell are you doing right here?”

An enthusiastic Cohen, who performed Chunk, says “We’re gonna stick with you the entire time you’re right here!” 

And Astin echoes his pleasure, saying, “We’re gonna do a sequel to the film!”
