Michelin Remembers Snow Tires That Do not Have Sufficient Traction
DETROIT (AP) — Michelin is recalling greater than 542,000 snow tires within the U.S. as a result of they do not have sufficient traction to work in all snowy situations.
The recall covers sure Agilis CrossClimate C-Metric tires that Michelin says do not meet U.S. security requirements. The tire maker says in paperwork posted Thursday by security regulators that tires with out adequate traction can improve the danger of a crash.
Sellers will exchange the tires for gratis to homeowners. Homeowners will get interim notification letters beginning June 12. They will get one other letter as soon as the replacements can be found.
The corporate says preliminary tire testing was executed with the improper tire stress. Later exams by Michelin found the issue.
