And even though the “Miss Independent” singer is clearly emotional thinking about her daytime tenure coming to an end, she’s confident in her decision to break away from TV after seven seasons following the unexpected death of her ex and father of her kids Brandon Blackstock.
“I think everybody gets the timing,” Kelly—who shares kids River, 11, and Remington, 9, with ex Brandon—said during a Feb. 20 interview on Today. “Our family life, the dynamic changed a bit, and it has changed for a minute now. I think it’s one of those things like, you kind of start seeing life as how precious it is, too.”
