Jill Biden arrives at King Charles’ coronation — as President rebuffed questions on absence


First Girl Dr. Jill Biden arrived at Westminster Abbey Friday morning forward of the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla – simply hours after President Biden dismissed questions on skipping the occasion.

Jill, 71, wore a pale blue swimsuit to the storied occasion. She was accompanied as she arrived shortly after 9:30 native time by granddaughter Finnegan Biden, 23, whose father is President Joe Biden’s youthful son, Hunter.

Each ladies sported headband fascinators in a nod to Britain’s headpiece custom.

The First Girl is attending the coronation – which is ready to start at 11 a.m. native time – instead of her husband. 

“I instructed [King Charles] I couldn’t be there as a result of I’ve this happening,” Biden, 80, instructed MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle in an interview that aired Saturday morning.

“He’s a great acquaintance and we’ve labored collectively on environmental points,” he mentioned of the 74-year-old king.

The octogenarian added that he could be in London this summer time for the NATO convention.

No American president has ever attended the coronation of a British monarch.

President Dwight D. Eisenhower – who was shut with the late Queen Elizabeth II – despatched a delegation of dignitaries to the latter’s 1953 ceremony.
