General Hospital's Kate Mansi Confirms “Difficult Decision” to Exit Show

Kate Mansi is clocking out.

After three years playing General Hospital‘s Kristina Corinthos-Davis—the daughter of mob boss Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and attorney Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn)—the 38-year-old confirmed she has made the “very difficult decision” to leave the character behind.

“I have a few new projects that require my full attention,” Kate told Stephanie Sloane as part of the SoapSteph’s Soap Dish newsletter, adding that since her husband Matt McInnis “is currently producing a series filming primarily abroad, I needed the flexibility to travel while continuing to develop and work in Los Angeles.”

Executive producer Frank Valentini added, “We love Kate and support her decision to leave. The door is always open, and we appreciate all that she added to the show these past three years.”

As for her time in the fictional city of Port Charles, Kate is leaving with no regrets.

“It’s been such a meaningful and unforgettable ride,” she said. “I’ve loved being a fiery Corinthos-Davis girl in such a phenomenal family.”
