‘Gang’s All Here’ Podcast Episode 165: The Zach Wilson Jets Era Is Over
[ad_1]
The Zach Wilson era with the Jets is finally over.
After almost three seasons of atrocious quarterback play, the Jets seem to finally be giving up on their 2021 second-overall pick.
Wilson was benched in the third quarter in Buffalo on Sunday in a 29-6 game, replaced by Tim Boyle.
On Monday, it was announced that Boyle will replace Wilson as the starting QB on Friday, when the 7-3 Dolphins come to MetLife Stadium to take on the Jets.
Better late than never, I guess?
The Jets offense has all sorts of issues. The offensive line has four starters now injured after Mekhi Becton hurt his ankle Sunday and the result has been a train wreck.
That has led to a terrible running game, despite having a star in Breece Hall in the backfield. On top of horrid QB play from Wilson, a bad offensive line, the receivers have also stunk. Allen Lazard is dropping more balls than any receiver in the league. Garrett Wilson is not getting the ball enough and on top of that, had a fumble Sunday and a fumble in a loss to the Chargers. Randall Cobb isn’t even active. After Tyler Conklin, the Jets are not getting production of their tight ends.
Oh yeah, and Nathaniel Hackett has been an abysmal play caller. He has not made adjustments week in and week out. He is not putting guys in the right spot to succeed.

From top to bottom, the Jets have fumbled this season.
They are now 4-6 and their hopes will ride on Boyle against the AFC East-leading Dolphins on Friday. It will be nice to see someone else finally under center, but it feels entirely too late.
