Biden Urges Republicans Take Debt Default off Desk


WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday urged Home of Representatives Speaker Kevin McCarthy to take the potential for a debt default off the desk, saying the US is “not a deadbeat nation.”

“Probably the most instant factor we are able to do is guarantee continued reliance of our economic system and the monetary system. Crucial factor we have now to do in that regard is to verify the menace by the speaker of the Home to default on the nationwide debt is off the desk,” Biden advised a small enterprise occasion.
