3 Staff Struck, 1 Dies Close to Tennessee Volkswagen Plant

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Administration shut down manufacturing Saturday at a Volkswagen plant in Tennessee after three staff have been struck by a automobile on a walkway simply exterior the plant, authorities stated.

One individual was killed, a second was critically injured and a 3rd was injured much less severely within the wreck that occurred close to a street contained in the plant website in Chattanooga, investigators stated.

Officers haven’t decided why the driving force of the automobile ran off the street and onto the walkway round 5:40 a.m. Saturday, Chattanooga police stated in a press release.

Volkswagen stated no different staff have been at risk and the German automaker determined to halt manufacturing on the plant after the wreck.

The names of the victims or the driving force haven’t been launched, Police proceed to research the crash.
