BERLIN — A U.S. soldier died when a truck hit his Stryker armored car on a freeway in southern Germany, the U.S. navy stated Wednesday.
U.S. Military Europe stated in an announcement that the accident occurred on Tuesday close to Tirschenreuth in Bavaria. It stated that the civilian semi-truck hit the Stryker because it merged onto the A93 freeway.
Civilian medics handled the soldier, who was with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment, and transported him to an area hospital, the place he was pronounced useless.
No different troopers touring within the navy car had been injured, the military stated. It added that it might present no additional particulars pending notification of subsequent of kin.
