Ukraine Extends Martial Legislation, Ruling Out October Parliament Vote

KYIV (Reuters) – Ukraine’s parliament voted on Thursday to increase martial regulation by one other 90 days till Nov. 15, ruling out the potential for parliamentary elections being held in October.

Ukraine introduced in martial regulation on Feb. 24, 2022, the day Russia launched a full-scale invasion of its neighbour. The regulation, which bars 18- to 60-year-old males from leaving the nation, has since been prolonged a number of occasions.

Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of parliament, mentioned on the Telegram messaging app that an amazing majority of lawmakers voted to increase martial regulation in a session of the Verkhovna Rada parliament.
