Travis Kelce is so mad at himself for letting down the Chiefs

No one was more upset about Travis Kelce’s performance in Monday’s loss to the Eagles than the Chiefs tight end himself.
When recapping the 21-17 defeat on Wednesday’s installment of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce griped about his play, which included a fumble and a dropped pass in the “Monday Night Football” contest.
“Obviously my turnover, turnovers are killing us, penalties are absolutely killing us. I had one of both, I had a holding penalty and a drop and a fumble. I’m not playing my best football right now. It’s pissing me off every f–king time I go out there,” Kelce said.
Although Kelce had a second-quarter touchdown to put the Chiefs up over the Eagles, 14-7, in the first half, the tight end, 34, had a hard time recalling the endzone moment.
“I scored? I did score,” Travis said when seemingly alerted by podcast personnel. “It’s about the only good thing I f–king did all night.”
Things did indeed spiral for Kelce from there.
Not only did he have a fumble in the red zone at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but a third-down pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes went through his hands before the two-minute warning.
Kelce finished the night with seven catches for 44 yards and one score.
“I got to be better,” Kelce said postgame. “Just not playing up to the level that I have in the past, I got to be better.”
Despite the loss, Kelce said Wednesday the locker room remains united.
“As a unit, we’re still together and that’s all that f–king matters,” the two-time Super Bowl champ said on the podcast.
“Nobody’s pointing fingers … guys are getting fired up, they want to be successful, I’m one of them, but we’re still a tight-knit group. And as long as you’ve got that, you’ve got a fighting chance.”
Currently the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff standings behind the Ravens, Kelce vowed to Chiefs fans the team will right the ship.
“We’re 7-3, I feel like we still control our destiny with the teams that we play in terms of getting the one seed and we’re just going to keep coming to work every day,” he said. “To Chiefs Kingdom, sorry that we didn’t show our best football out there in the second half, specifically, but I’ll tell you what, man, you’ve got a lot of guys in that locker room that give a damn. We’ll get it fixed.”
The stakes were high Monday as the game had been highly hyped as a rematch of Super Bowl 2023, when the Chiefs defeated the Eagles in February, 38-35.
There was also speculation Kelce’s girlfriend, pop superstar Taylor Swift, would be in attendance with her parents.
The 12-time Grammy winner — who has been linked to Kelce since September and has attended four Chiefs games this season — was still in Brazil, however, as part of the international leg of her “Eras Tour.”
