It hasn’t been a secret that Travis Kelce wants to win Super Bowl 2024 more than any before and it seems his speech to the Chiefs on Saturday night showed that.

The Chiefs’ star tight end addressed his teammates at the team hotel, along with Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones, at the behest of head coach Andy Reid.

While Mahomes and Jones’ comments roused the team, it was Kelce’s speech that moved some of his teammates to tears, according to NFL Network’s Albert Breer.

In fact, people inside the room describe his comments as “unbelievable” and “powerful,” the NFL insider also reported.

CBS’s Tracy Wolfson further expanded on what occurred during the team meeting that happened the night before Super Bowl 2024 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

“I was told also that Travis Kelce hit it out of the park,” Wolfson said. “His speech was powerful, it was impactful. There was not a dry eye in the house and that this team is absolutely ready to go.”

According to CBS, Wolfson added: “It was like a WWE-type speech. That was the best and most emotional team meeting in years.”

Sunday’s Super Bowl battle against the 49ers marks Kelce and Chiefs’ fourth appearance in the “Big Game” in the last five years and a win would give them their third ring in recent memory.

Winning on Sunday is at the top of mind for the Chiefs tight end, who has become one of the biggest names in the sport for his play on the field and his relationship with global superstar Taylor Swift.

NFL Network’s James Palmer said three Chiefs coaches described Kelce’s message as “the best speech I’ve ever seen a player give in front of a team” and one coach told him, “I’m getting chills just telling you about this speech.”

Kelce was emotional early on and people wondered if he was going to be able to get through the whole thing, Palmer reported.

“A switch turned, that emotion turned into fire,” Palmer said. “He was pounding his chest, going up and down the aisles between all of his teammates talking about that fire alarm that’s getting a lot of attention this week how that was needed at all, how they’re ready for this game.”

During Super Bowl 2024 Opening Night last Monday, Kelce joked that he needed to keep up with Swift, who know has won 14 Grammys, in the awards numbers.

“I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and bring home some hardware, too,” Kelce said.
