Tom Brady pal Jim Gray revealed as Mark Davis ‘advisor’ amid Raiders chaos

The Raiders are seemingly going into a tailspin… again.

But owner Mark Davis, who made big changes in his organization this week, reportedly has just the advisor to help him navigate through the organization’s latest mess — and it’s Jim Gray.

Amy Trask reported as such while on CBS Sports Radio’s morning show hosted by Maggie Gray and Andrew Perloff on Thursday morning.

The Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler earlier this week amid plenty of turmoil within the club.

This all came after weeks in which Davis reportedly grew “volatile and angry.”

Trask said the owner has someone outside the team in Gray who can help navigate the issues the team is facing.

“He does have outside advisors,” Trask, who worked for the Raiders from 1983- 2013 — including a run as CEO for 16 years — said in regard to Davis, who inherited the team following the death of his famed father, Al, in 2011.

“Jim Gray, who has a connection with Tom Brady, is one of his very, very primary advisors,” Trask continued. “There are others. Ron Wolf, Ken Herock, both of them have very strong football backgrounds. Mike Ornstein is an advisor.

“So, he does have an advisor outside the building.”

Gray, a longtime sportscaster and journalist who now works with Showtime and SiriusXM and has previously worked with ESPN, co-hosts the radio show “Let’s Go!” alongside future NFL Hall of Famers Tom Brady and Larry Fitzgerald.

Of course, Brady has been linked to the Raiders multiple times since his retirement after last season.

Brady reportedly purchased a minority stake in the team in September, but that was still in limbo following meetings with NFL owners in late October.

Former New York Giants standout and Super Bowl winner Antonio Pierce is taking over as interim head coach, and his first game at the helm will come against his old team.
