Thick, Heavy Smoke Billows Over Downtown Hartford After Hearth Erupts in Constructing

HARTFORD, CT. (AP) — Thick, grey smoke billowed from downtown Hartford, Connecticut, Tuesday as firefighters tried to rapidly douse a hearth within the metropolis’s Frontier constructing.

The fireplace erupted round 3 p.m. on the 10-story constructing, amid flash-flood warnings prompted by thunderstorms sweeping by way of the realm.

By late afternoon, crews extinguished the blaze on the constructing, which homes a telecommunications firm.

The reason for the fireplace was nonetheless below investigation, however officers stated it began in a storage unit.
