Taylor Swift becomes first artist to win 4 album of the year Grammy awards: ‘Mind-blown’

She made the whole place shimmer.

Taylor Swift has officially become the first-ever artist to win four Album of the Year awards after her historic win during the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday for “Midnights.”

Swift, who was nominated a whopping six times this year including for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Performing Solo Performance, has broken the three-way stalemate between Frank Sinatra, Paul Simon and Stevie Wonder, each of whom only won three of the coveted gramophones.

The “Cruel Summer” singer, who attended the award ceremony without her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, began her Album of the Year journey in 2009 when she won the award for her second album, “Fearless,” beating out several top-tier competitors.

Swift’s album, the first of her discography to be re-recorded, also picked up the award for Best Country Album that year.

The songstress, 34, famously lost the Album of the Year award in 2014 because several of the LP’s critics claimed that “Red” straddled the line between country and pop too much and was not a cohesive album.

In the “You Belong With Me” singer’s documentary “Miss Americana,” the singer said the loss prompted her to focus more on the “pop” side of the industry, thus paving the way for her comeback album “1989.”

Swift’s dedication to reinvention paid off after she went for gold again in 2016 with her pop album “1989” and secured a win for the music video of “Bad Blood,” featuring rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Shockingly, Swift’s album “Reputation,” released in 2018, received only one nomination for Pop Vocal album, which ended up going to “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?” by Billie Eilish.

Despite having several hits in her first post-Scooter Braun album “Lover,” the “Shake It Off” songstress only secured a handful of nominations for the 2019 album.

Returning to the Grammys in 2021 with her Covid-19 album “Folklore,” the Pennsylvania native received three nominations, including Album of the Year — which she won.
