Suburban Detroit Woman Says She Found a Live Frog in a Spinach Container

DETROIT (AP) — A lady in suburban Detroit mentioned she bought a scare when she found a life frog in a container of spinach she had simply purchased at a grocery retailer.
Amber Worrick of Southfield mentioned she purchased the sealed Earthbound Farm spinach package deal earlier this week from a Meijer retailer, WJBK-TV reported. When she bought dwelling, her daughter discovered a stay frog within the container and screamed, Worrick mentioned.
“It was alive and shifting,” Worrick mentioned. “Simply thank God I did not eat the frog.”
Worrick mentioned she instantly returned the package deal and the frog to the shop. Employees there launched the frog and gave her a refund, she mentioned.
The TV station’s video confirmed the frog in a sealed container.

Jennifer Holton, a spokesperson with the Michigan Division of Agricultural and Rural Growth, instructed the Detroit Free Press that nobody has filed any complaints concerning the incident. Holton mentioned the shop employees should not have launched the frog as a result of now her division has no manner of realizing what kind of frog it was and whether or not it is native to Michigan. The division has referred the incident to the U.S. Meals and Drug Administration, she mentioned.
Meijer officers instructed WJBK-TV that the frog was relocated to a brand new dwelling open air.
Officers with Taylor Farms, which owns Earthbound Farm, apologized in a press release and promised to proceed to offer “the freshest, most interesting high quality veggies for shoppers.”
