Skip Bayless: Jets’ Aaron Rodgers is ‘afraid’ to be on ‘Undisputed’

Aaron Rodgers’ candid weekly appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show” talking about vaccines, psychedelics, football and more, has Skip Bayless thinking the quarterback wouldn’t want to be a guest on “Undisputed.”

In a joint sit-down interview with GQ, Bayless and Lil Wayne discussed their unlikely friendship and Bayless was asked who his dream guest would be on Fox’s sports debate show.

LeBron James was his answer, which surprised Wayne, who said he would want it to be “the late, great Kobe Bean Bryant” or Rodgers.

“I think he’d be afraid,” replied Bayless based on Rodgers’ actions on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “He wants softball questions.”

Bayless’ instincts seemed to have been confirmed Thursday by the Post’s Andrew Marchand, who reported that McAfee has paid the Jets’ injured quarterback more than seven figures for being a part of the show every week, also known as “Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays.”

Alabama’s Nick Saban is also earning money for his Thursday segments with McAfee, who has been savvy in his deal with ESPN to make this work.

He cut his five-year deal for around $85 million from the network to pay people outside to help the show.

McAfee confirmed with The Post that Rodgers has made more than $1 million for his show appearances.

“My company went from a valuation of [$2 million to $5 million] to a company valued over $500 million in just a few years,” McAfee said on his Thursday show. “Everybody who helped us get to this point has reaped the benefits of it, that’s how business is supposed to work. To be transparent, Aaron deserves much more than what he’s gotten for the time and effort he has put into ‘Aaron Rodgers’ Tuesdays.’”

If Rodgers actually does not wish to go on Bayless’ show, it may be also because the host has made comments about him in past, labeling Rodgers as a “diva,” “master media manipulator” and “finger-pointing, blame deflector.”

His weekly unfiltered guest appearances began in 2020 and over time he had built a close relationship with McAfee, and followed him when his show was moved to ESPN at the start of the current NFL season.

Another factor in Rodgers’ weekly appearances is that McAfee’s co-host, A.J. Hawk, played alongside the quarterback in Green Bay from 2006-14.
