Six People Unaccounted for in House Fire in Queensland State

SYDNEY (Reuters) – Six individuals had been lacking after fireplace ripped by way of a home near Brisbane, Queensland, on Sunday morning, police mentioned.

5 youngsters and a person who lived on the property on Russell Island – about 60 km (37 miles) southeast of Brisbane, had been unaccounted for after the blaze engulfed the home within the early hours of Saturday.

“Upon arrival, the home was absolutely concerned and a number of surrounding properties had been broken,” police mentioned in an announcement.

Queensland Ambulance Service mentioned in a tweet that a number of individuals had been handled on the scene and two individuals had been taken to hospital in secure situation.

Investigations are underway to find out the reason for the fireplace, police mentioned.
