Raiders release Isaac Rochell hours after recognizing brother’s Air Force service

Talk about bad timing by the Las Vegas Raiders’ social media team.

The team had to make a roster move in order to fit newly acquired cornerback Jack Jones on the roster, which turned into the team waiving defensive end Isaac Rochell on Tuesday.

While Rochell lamented the fact that he was cut, he did have a little fun with it.

Only a few hours before the move occurred, the Raiders posted a video and article on X of Rochell talking about his brother’s contributions to the Air Force.

After announcing the news of his release on social media, Rochell took the opportunity to poke fun at the whole thing.

“This is objectively really bad timing,” Rochell captioned a repost of the video.

Rochell tried to keep it lighthearted on TikTok as well, where he and his wife, Allison Kuch, have gained significant notoriety

In “finding some humor in this situation,” Rochell explained how Nov. 14 seems to be an unlucky day for him.

“Because this date for some reason does not like the Rochells,” he said in the TikTok video. “I wake up this morning, this pops up on my timeline. November 14 last year I got released by the Browns and I look over at my wife and I’m like, ‘Oh that’s crazy a year ago today I got released.’ And then I got this text. You got to be kidding me.”

Rochell managed to keep things upbeat by ending the video by saying that he was “excited about the next chapter” of his life.

The defensive end can be claimed by another team.

Rochell was inactive for Week 10’s win against the Jets but played in eight games this season for Las Vegas, starting in one.

He recorded 10 tackles and was on the field for 120 defensive snaps and 33 on special teams.

A former seventh-round pick by the Chargers, Rochell is in his seventh season in the NFL.

His best season came in 2018 when he recorded 29 tackles and five sacks.
