Miami-Dade cop threw cheeseburger at wife, punched her in head: police

A Miami-Dade police officer was arrested on Thursday after he allegedly hurled a McDonald’s cheeseburger at his spouse and punched her within the head, authorities stated.

Andres Perez, 34, and his spouse have been arguing about funds and infidelity points on the couple’s dwelling in Miramar in Broward County when the argument turned bodily, based on a police report obtained by WPLG.

Police responded to the home round 6 p.m., and Perez’s spouse instructed officers that he stormed into the kitchen and threw the burger at her earlier than punching her behind her proper ear. 

The cop was arrested and charged with battery.

The couple has been collectively for eight years and married for 3 years. They share kids collectively, based on the report.

“It’s disheartening to be taught that one among my officers was arrested for a home violence incident, that occurred whereas he was off responsibility,” Miami-Dade Police Interim Director Stephanie Daniels instructed the outlet in a press release. 

“Law enforcement officials are held to a better commonplace; this kind of conduct is not going to be tolerated. Any actions which will hinder the general public’s confidence in regulation enforcement is unacceptable,” she added.

The division wouldn’t verify whether or not or not Perez had been disciplined or terminated because of the incident.
