Noteworthy items during the Mets’ Grapefruit League action on Thursday:
Flashing leather
Brett Baty had two leaping grabs on line drives to help preserve Jose Butto’s four scoreless innings in the Mets’ scoreless exhibition tie with the Cardinals on Thursday in Jupiter, Fla.
Baty has looked solid defensively this spring and is 8-for-32 (.250) at the plate with one homer.
Luke’s lost
Luke Voit struck out in all three of his at-bats and is 2-for-23 (.087) with 10 strikeouts in the Grapefruit League.
The former Yankees slugger is in camp on a minor league contract.
Caught my eye
Yohan Ramirez, who is battling for a bullpen job, struck out four batters over two innings and still hasn’t allowed an earned run this spring.
Friday’s schedule
Adrian Houser is slated for the start against the Nationals at Clover Park.
