Man Who Made Threats at a Rural Kansas Home Shot and Killed by Deputy, Authorities Say

RANSOM, Kan. (AP) — An armed man was shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy Tuesday when police coaxed him out of a central Kansas home the place he had been making threats and he then fired a weapon, authorities say.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation mentioned it’s reviewing the deadly police taking pictures of Jesse Nicholls, 46, within the rural group of Ransom.

The company mentioned Ness County deputies responded to 911 calls about an armed man making threats in a home. A deputy spoke with Nicholls on the cellphone and satisfied him to return out of the home, in response to officers.

Outdoors, Nicholls adopted directions to place his pistol down, the bureau mentioned. However then he picked it up once more and fired on the floor, they mentioned.

A Ness County deputy instantly fired at Nicholls, placing him repeatedly. He was taken to a hospital the place he was pronounced lifeless. The bureau has not launched the title of the deputy, and the Ness County Sheriff’s Workplace has not commented on the case.
