A 26-year-old man was shot in the head early Friday at a Midtown Manhattan building home to famed music studios and rehearsal spaces, according to cops who are hunting for four suspects.

Gunfire erupted just after 12:40 a.m. on the 11th floor of the Music Building on 8th Avenue, the NYPD said — with photos showing the unidentified victim being wheeled out on a gurney with the top of his head covered in thick bandages.

The Bronx-based victim was shot at least once in the head and was rushed by EMS to Bellevue Hospital in critical condition, police said.

One of the alleged attackers was described as a man in his 20s wearing a black Nike sweatshirt. No descriptions were available for the other three.

There was no immediate word on a motive for the shooting, or whether the victim was the intended target.

The Music Building has been in operation since 1979, billing itself as “New York City’s premiere and most historic monthly music rehearsal facility,” according to its website.

World-famous artists and bands, including Madonna, Billy Idol and The Strokes, have used some of the facility’s 69 studios and rehearsal spaces over the years.

The Music Building is staffed 24 hours a day and is always accessible to its monthly tenants.
