SAN SALVADOR (Reuters) -A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck off El Salvador’s Pacific coast at a depth of practically 70 km (43 miles) on Tuesday night, the USA Geological Survey (USGS) stated, with experiences indicating it was felt in a number of nations in Central America.
There have been no rapid experiences of injury and the earthquake didn’t set off a tsunami warning for El Salvador, El Salvador’s atmosphere ministry stated.
Salvadoran lawmaker Salvador Chacon stated on Twitter that checks had been being carried out within the coastal metropolis of La Libertad, close to the capital San Salvador, though there have been no experiences of injury from the municipality.
The quake was additionally felt in Nicaragua, Honduras, Guatemala and Belize, in keeping with native media and Reuters witnesses.
