Former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump announced Tuesday that she’s entering the race to be the co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

“I’m excited to officially announce my candidacy for co-chair of the RNC,” Lara Trump, 41, wrote on X.

“I promise you that I will be laser-focused on election integrity, voter turn out, and ensuring every dollar spent goes towards winning!” she added.

Trump touted her famous father-in-law’s endorsement in a letter to the 168 members of the RNC, according to Politico.

“Proud to have the endorsement of my father-in-law and 45th president, Donald J. Trump, for this position and understand the fundamental importance of this role,” she wrote, according to the outlet

“In the coming days, I look forward to connecting with you, the members of the RNC, and hopefully earning your vote,” Trump added.

Her entrance into the race comes after RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Co-Chair Drew McKissick announced Monday that they would both step down from the leadership posts on March 8.

Donald Trump, the GOP’s clear front-runner for the 2024 presidential nomination, had suggested earlier this month that it was time for a leadership change at the RNC, after three straight election cycles of Republican underperformance.

The former president is supporting North Carolina GOP Chairman Michael Whatley to replace McDaniel.

Whatley was seen onstage with Trump over the weekend at the former president’s South Carolina primary victory party.

The North Carolina Republican launched his campaign for the RNC chair position on Monday.

“[Whatley] will do an incredible job! It will be my honor to work along side him for the future of this country,” Lara Trump wrote on X.

The mother of two is married to Trump Organization executive vice president Eric Trump, the former president’s third son with his late ex-wife Ivana Trump.

The RNC will hold its leadership election on March 8.
