Jets NFL free agency grades: Gang Green’s offseason comes with some big ifs
[ad_1]
The Jets have not made any splashes at the start of free agency.
In fact, the biggest move was one they did not make and that was not re-signing edge rusher Bryce Huff, who signed with the Eagles.
Joe Douglas found some affordable options on the offensive line which if they work out will look like really smart moves but that could be a big if.

John Simpson is coming off a strong season with the Ravens but does not have much of a track record of success before last year.
Morgan Moses is a good bet. He has been a steady player for the Ravens and was strong for the Jets in 2021. The Jets did not give up much to get him and his contract is palatable.
The biggest question right now is at wide receiver.

Douglas has not made a move yet and most of the top options are off the board.

If he signs Mike Williams, that would ease the minds of Jets fans. The Jets need a No. 2 receiver to go with Garrett Wilson.
Douglas gets credit for re-signing kicker Greg Zuerlein and Thomas Morstead, two of the most reliable players the Jets had last year.
The Javon Kinlaw contract (one-year, $7 million) could be a bit of an overpay but a former first-round pick is worth the risk.
