Israel agrees to 4-hour daily pause in Gaza to allow civilians to flee

Israel has agreed to put in place a daily four-hour humanitarian pause in its assault in northern Gaza so as to allow Palestinians to flee, the White House said Thursday.
President Biden said Thursday that he called on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to establish the daily pauses during a phone chat earlier this week.
Israel committed to the plan and will announce the safe windows for evacuations starting Thursday and at least three hours in advance, US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters.
