An Indiana girl shot and killed a person who drove into her entrance yard and held her husband at gunpoint, in line with police. 

The incident unfolded final Monday at about 6:30 p.m. in Salem, when Michael Chastain, 45, allegedly drove by means of the entrance yard of a pair’s residence. Chastain allegedly grabbed the male house owner upon exiting his automotive, pressured him to the bottom and held a gun to his head, WDRB reported. 

Inside the home, the house owner’s spouse witnessed the scenario, retrieved her personal handgun and shot Chastain. 

“[Chastain] exited his car and put a firearm towards the house owner’s head. The spouse of the house owner noticed the altercation that occurred, walked exterior with a firearm and ultimately shot Chastain,” Indiana State Police Sgt. John Davis informed WLKY. 

The person was taken to a neighborhood hospital, the place he was pronounced useless. 

Indiana State police mentioned Chastain beforehand dated the couple’s daughter, however the girl now not lives on the residence. It’s unclear why the suspect focused the daughter’s father.

Police mentioned Chastain had a legal file and was well-known to regulation enforcement earlier than his loss of life.
