Soldiers from the Israel Defense Forces killed two Hamas fighters during hectic close-quarters combat that broke out inside a building in southern Gaza, according to a newly released video.

Footage of the shocking battle was uploaded on social media Tuesday and begins with members of the IDF’s 101st Battalion Combat Team ducking from gunfire on the second floor of a barricaded building in Khan Younis, southern Gaza’s largest city.

Bullets from the stairway fly into the room where Israeli troops were huddled, with one soldier miraculously dodging a volley of gunfire that erupted past the doorway.

As the soldier wearing the bodycam backs away, an explosive is tossed into the room, with the IDF fighters running for cover.

After another round of shooting and explosions on the second floor, several members of the combat team could be seen firing down the stairs before the battle ultimately comes to an end.

The IDF said that seven soldiers were wounded in the chaotic battle, and one K-9 unit that was probing the building was killed.

The battle broke out after members of the combat team surveyed the area where Israel had carried out airstrikes and tank attacks against Hamas, the IDF said.

Along with the two terrorists, the Israeli soldiers located a stash of weapons, grenades and ammunition belonging to Hamas inside the building.

Khan Younis remains a hotbed in the war between Hamas and Israel as the IDF looks to gain “operational control” in southern Gaza just as it has done in the north.

The recent battles saw three IDF soldiers die on Monday. Along with six other soldiers killed in battles in central Gaza, Monday marked one of the deadliest days for the Israeli military since the fighting began in the Palestinian enclave.

Despite the losses, the IDF said it remains committed to winning the war in southern Gaza, with members of the Givati Brigade recently touting the destruction of a Hamas outpost located in Khan Younis’ Islamic University.

At the college, the IDF said it located several rifles and ammunition inside classrooms, as well as Hamas flags and safes containing the terror group’s funding.

The IDF confirmed the death of two Hamas terrorists and the location of a weapons stockpile. IDF

A search around the university also turned up weapons warehouses containing about 100 mortar bombs, grenades, explosives and maps used by Hamas, according to the Israeli military.

“In a place where the young generation is supposed to be educated for higher education, the whole place is destroyed by Kalashnikov,” the Givati Brigade said in a statement, referring to the type of rifle used by Hamas.
