Giants’ 2024 opponents set after Vikings, Colts additions

The Giants put a brutal season to bed on Sunday with a surprising 27-10 victory over the Eagles at MetLife Stadium and now set their sights on waking up to a better tomorrow.
Their opponent list for 2024 is now complete.
The Giants finished with a record of 6-11, good for third place in the NFC East.
They will play home games next season against the Saints, Buccaneers, Ravens, Bengals, Colts and the Vikings in addition to their annual NFC East home-and-away series with the Cowboys, Eagles and Commanders.
The Giants will hit the road for games at Atlanta, Carolina, Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Seattle.
The games against the Colts and Vikings hit the schedule because they, like the Giants, finished in third place in their respective divisions.
QB Jalen Hurts injured a finger on his throwing hand on a sack by Bobby Okereke and his status for the Eagles’ playoff game in Tampa will be monitored carefully this week.
“Taking it day by day at this point,’’ Hurts said. “Very unfortunate, crazy thing, never experienced anything like that.’’
Asked what happened with his finger, Hurts said, “It popped out.’’
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said, “He’s tough as heck. After he got hurt, he came back in and ripped it. So, yeah, we’ll see.’’
WR Darius Slayton caught five passes for 62 yards and earned an additional $200,000 in incentives in this game by reaching season milestones of 50 receptions and 750 receiving yards.
Slayton, though, sounded dismayed that teammates were saying that he was going to have to pay for dinner after the game.
“Yeah, I heard that too,’’ Slayton said, smiling. “I’m not too sure, like, some of the people that were saying it ain’t the right people though. Like [Tommy] DeVito can say that but like Darren Waller and Tyrod [Taylor], I’m like, not that money I make.’’
When the Giants failed to score a touchdown on their first offensive series it clinched a remarkably bad season-long trend.
They went the entire season without scoring a touchdown on their first possession, the first time since 1997 they went a complete season without one.
The rookie season for WR Jalin Hyatt ended with a whimper.
He caught one pass for 5 yards and was forced out for good late in the first quarter with a hamstring injury.
Hyatt ended his first season with 23 receptions for 373 yards and no touchdowns.
Waller hauled in a 23-yard pass in the second quarter but then had to leave the game with a neck burner. Waller was able to return.
CB Nick McCloud left with a back injury, giving rookie CB Tre Hawkins a rare opportunity to get on the field.
Two rookie starters and the Giants’ top picks out of the 2023 draft, CB Deonte Banks and C John Michael Schmitz, were not able to overcome their late-season injuries and were inactive for the game.
Banks (shoulder) missed the final two games of a promising first NFL season.
Schmitz missed three games earlier in the season and started 13 games in his Giants debut season.
With Schmitz out, Ben Bredeson moved from right guard to fill Schmitz’s spot at center.
Mark Glowinski came off the bench to start at right guard.
