George Clooney laughs off reprising his famous role: ‘Not enough drugs in the world’

George Clooney has hung up his batsuit for good.

The actor revealed that it would take quite a lot for him to return as Batman after starring in the 1997 film “Batman & Robin.”

“I don’t think there’s enough drugs in the world for me to go back there,” Clooney, 62, smirked while chatting with Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet for his latest film “The Boys in the Boat.”

Clooney, who took over the role of Gotham’s darkest knight from Val Kilmer after the 1995 film “Batman Forever,” made a brief cameo as Bruce Wayne at the end of 2023’s “The Flash” starring Ezra Miller.

In the scene, Barry Allen (Miller) can be seen staring at a black town car as it gets swarmed by reporters.

A bodyguard is then seen cutting through the clamoring reporters before ultimately stepping aside and revealing Clooney dressed in a black suit and blue shirt while Allen asks, “who the f–k is this?”

“There was such a clamor for me to come back as [Batman], as you know,” Clooney told the outlet.

“I actually said, ‘Where are my rubber nipples?’” the “Ocean’s Eleven” star joked, referring to his iconic costume that went up for auction last year. “And they were like, ‘Can we do it without the rubber nipples?’ I was like, ‘Well, it’s not really my Batman, is it?’”

The Hollywood hunk starred opposite Uma Thurman, Chris O’Donnell, Alicia Silverstone and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the flop.

In 2021, the actor claimed that he was the reason the film “f–ked up.”

“I did one superhero movie and I f–ked it up so bad they won’t let me near the set,” Clooney said during a Q&A session at the DGA Theater following a screening of his film “The Tender Bar,” which starred Ben Affleck.

Affleck would go on to play the caped crusader in 2016.

“I don’t want to get into all the bat nipples,” Clooney noted, adding that it “physically hurts” him to watch the Joel Schumacher-directed project.

“My work, where my bread is buttered, is the kind of films that I grew up in the ’60s and ’70s, which is sort of the prime time for American filmmaking, which were all story-based,” Clooney explained.

According to Clooney’s wife, Amal Clooney, the “Burn after Reading” star “won’t let” her watch the movie.

“There are certain films I just go, ‘I want my wife to have some respect for me,’” the “Leatherheads” star explained to Variety. He also forbids their twins, Alexander and Ella, from putting it on.

 “It’s bad when your 4-year-old kid goes, ‘This sucks.’ That could be painful,” Clooney admitted.

“The Boys in the Boat” is set to hit theatres on Christmas Day.
