Furious Philly fan launches popcorn at Nick Sirianni after Eagles collapse

[ad_1]

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni appeared to evade a popcorn shower from one crude Philadelphia fan Monday night after the team’s season-ending collapse in Tampa.

As Sirianni walked off the field following the Eagles’ embarrassing 32-9 wild-card playoff loss to the Buccaneers, an Eagles fan in the stands at Raymond James Stadium could be seen tossing a bucket of popcorn in the third-year coach’s direction.

In footage of the incident now circulating on social media, phrases such as “You’re done, Nick,” and “You’re f–king done, Nick” could be heard in the background as security caught wind of what was happening.

Stadium personnel could then be seen climbing the stairs to locate the parties involved.

It has been a stunning fall from grace for the defending NFC champions, who started the season at 10-1.

The Eagles spiraled in the second half of the year, losing six of their last seven games.

Sirianni, who has been at the helm in Philadelphia since 2021, is now facing questions about his future.

When pressed on the matter postgame, Sirianni said his focus is on those in the locker room.

“I’m not thinking about that,” Sirianni said, according to NFL.com. “I’m thinking about the guys. Again, there’s a lot of guys in that locker room, all the guys in that locker room, every single one of them that put their heart and soul into this. I’m not worried about me.”

Quarterback Jalen Hurts, who played through a dislocated finger on his throwing hand, shouldered the blame Monday, stating, “the reality is we have to be better, and it starts with me.”

The Eagles will have much soul-searching to do this offseason in the wake of their early playoff exit.

When they return in 2024, however, it will be without a core member of their team.

Longtime center Jason Kelce told teammates his plans to retire after 13 seasons, according to reports.

A Super Bowl champion, Kelce spent his entire career with the Eagles, earning six First-Team All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowl nods.
