SYDNEY (Reuters) – A former Australian childcare employee has been charged with 1,623 youngster abuse offences in opposition to 91 kids between 2007 and 2022, federal police mentioned on Tuesday.

The 45-year-old man has been in custody in Queensland state since August 2022 when police arrested and charged him initially for making youngster exploitation materials.

He has been charged with 136 counts of rape and 110 counts of sexual activity with a toddler underneath 10. All the kids allegedly offended had been women, with some now aged over 18 years.

The case has been scheduled in courtroom on Aug. 21.
