Making memories before the trip even starts!
A woman surprised her husband while on their honeymoon trip to Jamaica after slipping a note to the flight attendant to announce he was recently cancer-free.
Toronto local Haley Louvelle, 22, recorded the heart-warming moment to social media moments after the flight attendant goes over preflight briefings to passengers, the video posted to TikTok shows.
Louvelle and her husband are sitting next to each other when she gently holds his arm and places the phone in front of them just seconds before the adorable surprise on Jan. 6.
“A young man on this plane named Josh was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in June of 2020. Since then he has had chemo, radiation and surgery to remove his entire right lung, thymus gland, the lining of his heart and part of his diaphragm,” the flight attendant says over the intercom.
“He was on life support two times and was in and out of the hospital for years. He fought for his life and is now cancer-free and on his way to his honeymoon in Jamaica!” the flight attendant continued, prompting passengers to cheer on Josh before they could even be instructed to do so.
“I was going to say, please join me in giving Josh the biggest round of applause!” the flight attendant joked after realizing everyone was already cheering.
Louvelle revealed to viewers in a caption over the video she was able to sneak a note to the flight attendant that requested for them to make the surprise announcement for her husband.
The note was not provided in the video, though Louvelle revealed what the letter read in an interview with “People.”
“Hi!!! I wanted to see if there is any chance you could read this over the speakers?” the note provided by People reads. “Possibly near the beginning of the flight so I can have my phone ready to take a video and make sure neither of us have our headphones on yet? Thank you!!!”
According to People, Haley shared that her honeymoon with Josh was postponed three times after he was diagnosed in June 2020.
But he was able to beat the cancer, and the two were now off to celebrate in the tropical island of Jamaica for their long-awaited honeymoon.
TikTok users watching the amazing video — now viewed over 405,000 times — poured into the comment section to show their support.
“This is the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long time… You go, Josh! Haley, keep being that wonderful support. There is nothing better than true ❤,” one commenter replies.
“What a way to kick off a honeymoon! Congratulations to you both and all the love in the world!,” another commenter wrote.
