FanDuel bettor loses out on nearly $160K after Kentucky-LSU buzzer-beater

There are bad beats, and then there is what happened to this FanDuel Sportsbook bettor on Wednesday night.

A sports gambler had a wild 12-leg college basketball parlay come down to the last game before losing out on a massive payout in the closing seconds.

It all came down to Wednesday’s contest between Kentucky and LSU in Baton Rouge.

The bettor needed Kentucky to come out on top, and with less than10 seconds left, it appeared that might end up being the case.

With the clock winding down and LSU down 75-74, Tigers guard Jordan Wright drove to the basket and hoisted up what he hoped would be the game-winning stop.

But Wildcat Adou Thiero was right there and swatted his shot down.

The ball went right back into the hands of Wright, who immediately chucked the ball to teammate Tyrell Ward.

Betting on College Basketball?

Ward hot-potato’d the ball into the basket, giving the Tigers a thrilling win but handing this FanDuel bettor a losing ticket.

To make matters worse, the Wildcats led by as much as 15 points early in the second half before a collapse led to a Tigers comeback.

As a +2076595 long shot, the bet would have won the bettor nearly $160,000 off a measly $7.69 wager.
