Extreme thunderstorms struck southern Michigan on Wednesday, uprooting bushes, downing branches and energy strains and chopping electrical energy to greater than 140,000 prospects, utilities and others reported.

DTE Vitality reported almost 108,000 prospects with out energy as of 5:40 p.m., and Customers Vitality reported greater than 32,000 with out service.

The Nationwide Climate Service reported bushes and tree limbs had fallen within the Detroit space, Ann Arbor and different places throughout southern Michigan.
