The Philadelphia Eagles received some good news about receiver DeVonta Smith after an ugly 35-31 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

Smith suffered a mild ankle sprain in the upset at Lincoln Financial Field, NBC Sports Philadelphia confirmed.

The 25-year-old wideout is scheduled for an MRI on Monday.

Smith was injured blocking on a third-and-19 bubble screen pass to Kenneth Gainwell at the Cardinals’ 29-yard line in the fourth quarter.

He was seen in a walking boot and on crutches leaving the Linc on Sunday.

Smith had three catches for 30 yards in the loss to surpass 1,000 yards for the second straight season.

It’s unclear how the injury will affect his preparation heading into Sunday’s game against the Giants.

He did not speak to the media after the New Year’s Eve game due to his injury.

However, Smith expressed his frustration with the offense after Philadelphia’s 33-25 win over the Giants on Christmas Day, when he said: “We’re not playing good football right now. As an offense, we’re not where we want to be.”

The Eagles might’ve dodged a serious injury with Smith, but things appeared tense inside the locker room.

Eagles’ star receiver A.J. Brown refused to speak with reporters after the game.

“I’m not about to talk,” he said while standing at his locker, smiling. “There’s nothing to talk about.

“There’s nothing to say. It’s nothing towards y’all though, just to clear that up.”

Brown was limited to four catches for 53 yards in the loss.

The Eagles ran 26 plays after halftime, and just one of them went to Brown.

Philadelphia’s defensive struggles were also on full display, with the Eagles allowing a touchdown on all four of the Cardinals’ second-half possessions.

“We’ve got to get things fixed,” head coach Nick Sirianni said. “And we’ve got to get them fixed fast.”

The Eagles have lost four of five games after a 10-1 start with one of the easiest schedules to close out the season.

Sunday’s loss put a damper on Philadelphia’s chances of securing one of the top seeds for the NFC playoffs — and clinching an NFC East title for a second consecutive year.

The Dallas Cowboys (11-5) now just need a win over the Washington Commanders (4-12) in Week 18 to clinch the division.

The Eagles (11-5) no longer control their own destiny when they finish the regular season against the Giants (5-11) at MetLife Stadium on Jan. 7.
