Dutch Justice Minister Yesilgoz to Lead Outgoing PM Rutte’s Party

[ad_1]

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – Dutch Justice Minister Dilan Yesilgoz will lead outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte’s conservative VVD social gathering in elections this November, the social gathering introduced on Monday.

Yesilgoz, 46, is the primary girl to steer the VVD social gathering in nationwide elections and if profitable, can be the primary feminine Dutch PM.

She has Kurdish roots and immigrated to the Netherlands from Turkey when she was 8 years previous.

Rutte, the longest-serving Dutch prime minister, mentioned in July he would go away politics following the collapse of his authorities over asylum coverage. He’ll proceed to serve in a caretaker position till a brand new cupboard is put in.

The Dutch will go to the polls on Nov. 22 – the primary election since 2006 wherein Rutte will not be main VVD.
