SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Drought and dry circumstances in South Dakota are bettering because of latest rainfall and cooler temperatures.
This week’s U.S. Drought Monitor report reveals solely round 25% of South Dakota remains to be below various levels of drought circumstances, with only a small pocket of Charles Combine County in excessive drought. The dry circumstances are concentrated in southeastern and japanese South Dakota.

“I believe the rain along with the cooler than common temperatures we’ve seen during the last couple weeks, you recognize for many of July, actually has improved or decreased the stress on particularly corn and soybeans,” Edwards stated. “And so, we’re seeing a lot improved crop circumstances within the corn and soybean areas.”
