Dramatic video captures Florida man’s rescue after plane crashes into Gulf of Mexico: ‘Make it or drown’

A Florida man was rescued on Sunday after his airplane crashed into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Workplace wrote in a Fb publish that 40-year-old Adam Joseph Barney was flying an Aero Commander 500 when it crashed into the Gulf.
The sheriff’s workplace was notified of the crash at 10:18 a.m.
Officers say that the airplane crashed three miles off Sawyer Key, an island inside the Florida Keys.
Barney suffered no life-threatening accidents on account of the crash, and deputies say no different passengers have been on the airplane.
Deputy Trevor Pike transported Barney to paramedics ready at Cudjoe Key.
In a video of the rescue, Barney advised the deputy that he was on his approach to choose up a good friend when the airplane crashed.
The Orlando-based pilot was within the water for round an hour earlier than assist arrived, in line with the deputy.
“I simply began swimming. “I noticed the balloon and I knew shore was that means, so I used to be like, ‘I’ll ultimately make it or drown.’ One or the opposite,” Barney advised the deputy.
The US Coast Guard and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Fee assisted within the incident, in line with the sheriff’s workplace.
