Cowboys vs. 49ers prediction: Player prop pick for ‘Sunday Night Football’

[ad_1]

The spotlight game in Week 5 of the NFL is a playoff rematch in the Bay Area as the Cowboys look to avenge a defeat to the 49ers in the divisional round of the playoffs last season.

Actually, it’s revenge for the past two seasons, as Dallas’ dreams of a Super Bowl run ended at the hands of San Francisco.

The Cowboys ran out of time in a home wild-card loss in 2021, and Dallas’ offense couldn’t get going in a 19-12 setback at Levi’s Stadium in 2022.

Fast-forward to this season, the Cowboys have put together three dominating efforts in blowouts of the Giants, Jets, and Patriots.

Dallas outscored those three squads, 108-13, but lost a head-scratcher at Arizona as 11-point favorites in Week 3.

The 49ers have yet to taste defeat this season, owning a perfect 4-0 record while scoring at least 30 points in all four victories.

From a props perspective, it’s hard to ignore the struggles that Cowboys’ quarterback Dak Prescott has had against this San Francisco defense.

His passing yards prop sits at 242.5, and he has failed to top that number last season against the Niners.

In the 2021 wild-card game, Prescott posted 254 yards, but Dallas also fell behind early 13-0, forcing him to throw more often.

Betting on the NFL?

In last year’s playoff defeat, Prescott was limited to 206 yards through the air against San Francisco.

This season, Prescott has hit the over on his passing yards prop in three straight games, while San Francisco has allowed more than 243 yards passing in two of four games, which came against Rams’ quarterback Matthew Stafford (307) and Arizona’s Joshua Dobbs (265) last week.
