Christopher Nolan defends steamy ‘Oppenheimer’ intercourse scene as ‘important’

The film, out July 21, is a biopic about J. Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), “father of the atomic bomb.”

The science-y biopic appears a lower than horny selection for the director’s first, reportedly “prolonged” steamy scene, which occurs between Murphy’s Oppenheimer and lover/doctor Jean Tatlock (Pugh). Their affair continues even after he marries Kitty (Blunt). 

Early evaluations from critics are calling the the film “sensual.” The Publish’s Johnny Oleksinski known as it “a film that makes you say “Oh, my God” again and again.”

Nolan advised reporters that it might have been unimaginable to inform the story with out the intercourse.
