Taylor Swift and her music will likely be heard and seen by many around the globe as the Super Bowl approaches, but Christian McCaffrey’s mother, Lisa, will be doing everything in her power to avoid the 12-time Grammy winner’s lyrics.
“I refuse to listen to Taylor Swift songs for the next couple days,” she said on her son’s fiancée Olivia Culpo’s podcast, “Your Mom,” as the San Francisco running back will be facing Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, in Super Bowl LVIII next weekend.
“I love her, I love the relationship, but we are boycotting any T. Swift songs,” she added on the show.
“If she pops up on the radio station … nope. She’s dead to us this week.”
Lisa admitted she is a fan and has Swift on her “running playlist and everything,” but over the next week, the mother will be putting her fandom on hold, as the 49ers will try to earn their first Super Bowl win in nearly 30 years.
Swift has taken over the NFL space this season after attending 12 Chiefs games in support of Kelce.
The couple was a big highlight of Kansas City’s celebration of its AFC Championship win over the Ravens when the two met on the field and shared a kiss.
Swift is expected to make it to the Super Bowl despite her “Eras Tour” resuming in Tokyo with a concert the day before the Big Game.
It’s likely she will take a private jet to fly the 12 hours to make it by game time, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said in a breakdown.
Lisa and Culpo will be in attendance after Miss Universe 2012 surprised her future mother-in-law by buying her a pricey luxury suite at the game for her birthday.
Swift and Kelce have been publicly dating since September, while McCaffrey and Culpo have been dating since 2019 and got engaged last year.
