The Commanders continue to trade away young pass-rushing talent.

Washington is trading defensive lineman Chase Young to the 49ers, NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter adds that the Niners are sending back a conditional third-round pick.

Earlier Tuesday, the Commanders traded Montez Sweat to the Bears for a second-round pick.

Young, 24, was the second overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He has five sacks so far this season.

The oft-injured Young is added to a strong defense that includes Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave, Drake Jackson and Arik Armstead.

Young and Bosa were teammates at Ohio State.

Young is a free agent after the season concludes after the Commanders did not pick up Young’s fifth-year option this past offseason.

The 49ers have lost three straight after a 5-0 start and their vaunted defense has now struggled the past two weeks against the Vikings and Bengals.
