Bulgaria Signs 9.5 Million Euro Deal for Overhaul of MIG-29 Jet Engines

SOFIA (Reuters) – Bulgaria signed a 9.5 million euro take care of Poland’s Wojskowe Zakłady Lotnicze for an overhaul of six MIG-29 jet engines, the defence ministry mentioned on Friday.
An overhaul could be carried out “with a view to make sure the airworthiness of the MiG-29 plane till reaching operational capabilities for fight responsibility with the brand new F-16 Block 70 fight platform,” the ministry mentioned in a press release.
The contract was signed on Friday following a public procurement and its whole worth is 9.552 million euros, it mentioned.
It’s stipulated that the restore interval for every engine won’t exceed 9 months from the date of handover.
