Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett and wife Jordanna are celebrating the newest addition to their family.
In a post shared Saturday on Instagram, Jordanna revealed the couple welcomed baby girl Allanah Ray over the weekend, less than 12 months after losing 2-year-old daughter Arrayah in a tragic drowning accident.
“We welcomed Our sweet Allanah Ray, our heart is so full!” Jordanna wrote alongside a slideshow of photos featuring Allanah. “2•3•24 we love you so much already babygirl!”
The Buccaneers, whom Barrett, 31, has played for since 2019, congratulated the linebacker’s family in a sweet message on Saturday.
“Welcome to the Krewe, Allanah Barrett,” the team gushed on Instagram.
The Barretts, who are also parents to sons Shaquil Jr., 11, Braylon, 10, and 8-year-old daughter Aaliyah, first confirmed in June that they were expecting a baby girl.
At the time, Jordanna expressed how daughter Arrayah “had a special hand in picking this sweet girl to add to our family!”
“A few weeks after our sweet girls heaven day, Shaquil and I found out we were expecting! I just know Arrayah had a special hand in picking this sweet girl to add to our family!” Jordanna shared on social media.
“We are so beyond blessed, so beyond grateful that God chose to give us another little girl! We miss our Arrayah every second of every day, but I rest in knowing she’s going to be the best big sister angel to little miss Allanah!”
Arrayah drowned in the family’s swimming pool in a devastating incident in April 2023.
Barrett, who later paid tribute to Arrayah with a tattoo of her face on his forearm, spoke to ESPN in July about how he and Jordanna have leaned on one another after their tragic loss.
“[Jordanna’s] been really strong and we’ve been able to lean on each other,” he said. “But we also been really weak together too. We’ve also been sharing those tough times with each other, we’ve also been crying on each other, talking to each other, having times with the kids — everybody knows that it’s OK to still talk about Arrayah, to still show our emotions for her. That’s the way we need to remember her and just bring her brightness to our lives and to other people’s lives by talking about her.”
Barrett played in 16 regular-season games for the Buccaneers in 2023.
